My Favorite Book

One of them, anyway.

This doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the Music Biz, but I wanted to share it anyway...

Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking

After hopping on the current "Let's All Get Crazy About Introverts" train, my mom basically forced me to read this book, and I'm glad she did.

In a nutshell, this book describes the difficulties and perks of being an introvert, and what we (as introverts) can do to overcome hardships and make the most of our natural talents. Reading this book helped me reflect and think of issues I'd had growing up, and helped me realize why I might have been having those issues, and what I can do about them now.

Don't get me wrong, Susan Cain (the author) doesn't bash extroverts or put introverts on a glory pedestal. Backed by her own research and interviews, she simply explains what E's and I's can do to get along better and be more productive together (and so much more).

When asked by yakkity colleagues what I was reading, it was fun to say, "It's called: Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking."

I may be biased, but I think this is a good book for anyone. You may uncover something about a friend or family member, or maybe even yourself.
